Hi!

Yes, I CouchSurferd at Wireless Summit in Vienna and it also worked very
well. You just have to be frank in advance and say that you will be
attending an event and have almost no time for the host but that event
is about this and this. Some people will then decline, but you will also
find people who will appreciate what are you doing and they will see
this is as their way of contributing to the cause. So, just bring this
upfront.

At least I know for myself, when I am hosting, sometimes I do not have
time for guests. But if I can help and they are even doing things I find
important, why not just sleep over at my place?

Of course, you will probably have a harder time find the couch. But it
is possible.
