[Ninux-Wireless] Non passate da AirOS 5.6.X a OpenWRT!!

Oggi ho aggiornato a AirOS 5.6.3 svariati devices Ubiquiti prima di
passarli a OpenWRT/Libre-Mesh.
Ed è stato un errore, perché quegli infami della Ubiquiti [1] nei
firmware 5.6.X (rilasciati da luglio in poi) hanno leggermente spostato
le partizioni sulla memoria senza apparente motivo [2].
Al primo accesso all'antenna dopo il flashing tutto sembrava
funzionante, s'è connessa in mesh agli altri nodi etc, ma dopo la
modifica di qualche file (ad esempio impostando la password di root) e
un riavvio, questi file non sono stati salvati.
In dmesg si trovano messaggi tipo:

jffs2: Newly-erased block contained word 0x19852003 at offset 0x00320000

A posteriori ho trovato questo avviso [3]:

"Special Firmware Note: AirOS XM.v5.5.X images used U-Boot 1.1.4.2-s594
(Dec 5 2012 - 15:23:07). The OpenWRT image can be successfully flashed
onto these versions of firmware. However, in July 2015 Ubiquiti released
a new version of firmware XM.v5.6.X. With this firmware a new U-Boot
version was released, U-Boot 1.1.4.2-s956 (Jun 10 2015 - 10:54:50). The
newer U-Boot version changes the memory size and starting address for
rootfs, cfg, and EEPROM. LOADING AN OPENWRT IMAGE ON A U-Boot
1.1.4.2-s956 WILL CAUSE THE DEVICE TO BE BRICKED!!!

If the device has XM.v5.6.X, an older version of XM firmware can be
loaded from the AirOS webgui (for example XM.v5.5.10) and U-Boot will be
overwritten with the older version. OpenWRT can then be loaded onto the
device successfully."

Per ora online non ho trovato una soluzione vera e completa, nei
prossimi giorni farò delle prove.

PS urge abbandonare questi produttori di hardware infami per provare
alternative più open e comunitarie, che non ci tendano simili trappole.
