Just for the record:

had a phone call with Alex now - he convinced me.

*Both* measurement methods might be interesting: two protocols in parallel on one node and each protocol alone on a node - in a serial test.
At the very least you should be able to see if both protocol's routing table insert/delete operations do not disturb other protos
(which is a nice check anyway).
