Yes, we did... in a certain way.
We use DLEP (Dynamic Link Exchange Protocol) to transmit the layer-2
information of the NS-3 emulation core to the routing agents of the
connected VMs.
It is NOT a transparent thing and the routing agent does have to
support DLEP, but it works.
