What's the status of MT76 regarding 5GHz outdoor use? I would especially
like to know if there are plans for DFS support.

Good DFS support in hardware and software is an integral part for doing
FCC and ETSI certification. At least if you consider using a device for
outdoor networks.

Many year ago my experience with Atheros chips was that equipment
vendors promised working DFS support (radar-detection). But in practice
it worked so bad that you had to turn it off if you wanted meaningful
throughput :)

I expect Mediatek is not experienced in this field of outdoor/enterprise
products. I really hope I'm wrong and their DFS feature is better
implemented (in hardware) than the early Atheros stuff.
