you are right, Niit is not very much documented as far as I know.

I have no idea if the pointers to the actual documentation are hidden
on some lost page on the Internet or if there is no proper
documentation at all.

Please ask "Alexander Morlang" <alx a dd19.de> that is the only person I
know directly involved in this project.

He can provide the documentation.
