No, unless you're trying to route multiple gigabits through a single box.

Now I certainly don't want to discourage you, but PIM-SM relies on RPF,
which does not work in mesh networks -- have you thought about how to
solve this problem ?

Scherzi a parte, I'm thinking about it.  Git sucks, but has a great
ecosystem; Darcs rocks, but has no ecosystem to speak of.

Notification is asynchronous, a change to the kernel's routes will be
reflected « straight away », for some small value of straight away
(typically a few ms).

Sono daccordo, per una mesh IPv6 è sufficente.

AHCP diventa interessante quando vuoi avere un modello di router
standard che puoi usare in varie reti -- AHCP è capace di configurare il
prefisso, l'indirizzo del server NTP, etc.
