Perdonate la risposta al volo, (sto con uno smartphone), ipotesi:
..e se \x00\'"\x17\x8b\x12 fosse solo la conversione byte-a-byte in ASCII di   0:27:22:17:8b:12 ?

Non ho sottomano una tabella ASCII per verificare, ma ad occhio sembra:

0 --> \x00
27 --> '
22 --> "
17 --> \x17
8b --> \x8b
12 --> \x12

Ma forse ho preso un granchio.
Meglio che torno a dormire :)
